Chrysoberyl has a Masters degree in Counseling Psychology from SNDT University. She began her career working at an NGO that provided therapy for children with Autism and developmental disabilities. Over the last few years, she realised that caregivers come in all shapes and sizes; whether they be a mother who has devoted most of her life to her child with special needs or a senior citizen dealing with a spouse that has dementia. After witnessing first hand, the plight of a caregiver’s mental, psychological and emotional state, she realised how important it is to attend to them in addition to the patient. Adveka’s work with caregivers and their mental health resonated with her deeply and she is now an Advisory Member to the organisation. She currently teaches at an inclusive school where she continues to work with children on the spectrum as well as those with learning difficulties.
